Reminders

I will be the first to admit that everyday is not as perfect as it seems. There are times when some cleansing of the soul is needed. The question is how many times do we actually take the moments necessary to reach our soul and lift us from an imaginary place of discomfort? Taking the time to connect with oneself and hear the voice inside makes the discomfort go away if we have the courage to listen to what is being said.

Going to find yourself within is truly necessary to do when you have experienced some type of trauma. When I say trauma that could mean taking on someone else's problems as your own. For instance, I heard and dealt with the abuse of a child, the death of a loved one, a hospitalized loved one, physical fighting for no apparent reason, and total disoriented behaviors of adults who are guiding children to live their best life. After a few days of this type of situation I began to internalize this and make it my own causing actions in my own life to travel on the frequency of negativity.

I am thankful for my daily practice of meditation, yoga, and communicating in a positive thought process as I have surrounded myself with the right thinking to become better and raise myself from a low moment. Today I go and examine the world with clear vision that with love and kindness I can generate the peace that I desire. I may be in meditation for the majority of the day, and when I see the sun rise or the greenest grass today I will be reminded that all is well in this world especially within me.

Enjoy each day as if it were you last. Take time to tell someone how much they mean to you today. I want you all to know that I love you and enjoy your contributions to my life :)

Have a Magical Monday!

Creating Better Thoughts

Each day I have a daily routine of meditation, affirmations, gratitude and yoga. This is to primarily ground myself to set up a great day ahead. I do this to prepare my mind on the best things about life. As this become a habit instead of chores I find myself having to adjust my mind to do what I need to do without any excuses.

During our lifetimes we have made things leading to our greatness something optional. Lisa Nichols says, "Before she [I] knew about the law of attraction, [I] knew about the law of no matter what." Living your life in the "no matter what" sets your mind to do everything you desire. I woke and completed my meditation when my "ego" said I could just do the nighttime yoga with the 20 minute tape. I am thankful to have a trained mind to focus and get the yoga completed now!

Take charge of your life and do the things you think you are too tired to do! When you contribute to your greatness, great things will come. When you move through life living optionally you miss out on your blessings. Have a fantastic day!!!! :)

When the Past Becomes Your Present

With the craze of the internet and modern technology connections like no other have emerged in enormous ways. Within the last year I have been reconnected with friends from my early elementary years through college and current daily life. I am truly amazed to see the success of many and have found new ways to build on the relationships from the past.

The statement, "People come into your life for a reason," is an understatement for me as the lessons I was taught in life have truly come full circle revealing the greatness of just how powerful relationships really are to creating the very best life.

To those who are in my present and come from my past I thank each of you for all that you have brought to my life. It has been rich and fulfilling with no regrets at all. I have taken each lesson and, at some point, learned just how special you are in my life.

I appreciate you for all that you do. Many thanks and sincere love!

To Live and Love

The question was asked when do you give up waiting to be connected with your soul mate? My reply was simply, "Never! To give up is to quit is to die! Always believe and remember to ask and you shall receive. ;)" The response was easily given with the lack of hope and belief that this is possible so it would be easier to give up and live without disappointment hence my response, "Giving up is not to live it is letting go that allows us to live. Letting go frees the mind from the prison that is self creating. Remember that living means to remove the barriers that we create in our own minds about how things are suppose to be. Life's disappointments are opportunities for creativity and lessons learned. In most cases the disappointments are not about the actions that are present, but more of the lack there of understanding of the lesson prepared. So with that said what is the lesson we all need to learn. I am reminded to live my life to the fullest every moment all the time! How are you join me? Ditto...dream happily with love!"

Do you believe you have a soul mate? Are you with your soul mate now? I know there are questions around if they really exist, but I truly believe that we have them we just don't wait around long enough to receive them. Soul mates are the blessings that God has for us however many times we think we are the ones that are in control of the choices to know who is divinely right for us. I know my soul mate exists, and I send him praises every single day. I know he receives them each time I share with him my prayer for our lovely life together. I have summoned him to existence and I know that he is rapidly on his way to me right now! Thank your for reading! Live, Laugh and LOVE :) Okay for real goodnight.

When You Know Love is So Beautiful

I received the video from Vimeo http://vimeo.com/2703649 that is of President Obama and Michelle Obama that is a total display of the love that they share with each other and with their family. I am so very much in love with this video because it is a symbol and sign that there is love out there and that they have built a relationship that is so very powerful.

When you see them at appearances together and apart you feel the energy they both possess, and within that energy is a respect that is so honorable and genuine. I am truly inspired by their love. It reminds me that there is love and mine is inside of me being shared with the world as I am connected with my mate.

Today live your life in love!

To Tenure or Not to Tenure

I agree with the statement I heard earlier, that tenure is a system that has been earned by those who have demonstrated they have been in the profession for a certain number of years. The reality is that if a system earns tenure based upon years and not on performance then we have a mute point on how we can assess and retain the best and brightest in the profession. The children deserve more than just someone who has earned the number of years of service and our system of STULL is not the greatest in dealing with people who slip through the cracks. To blame this process solely on the fault of administration not evaluating people before they reach tenure is not a fare judgment. Many times administrators inherit these problems because people are more concerned about saving someone's job and helping to keep a full time staff roster than finding and retaining professionals that actually believe the children can learn.

Now I have compassion for adult who are working to better educate the students. These are the people who have gained tenure and still are working to perfect their craft. They are working with updated technology to communicate with parents and utilize all available resources to provide students with a quality education. These individuals who have earned their tenure should be commended and receive bonuses for their contribution to society.

Realistically we have a work force that has true professionals and staff members who need to refocus their efforts to becoming more effective with classroom practices. Stop with the complaining and find the solutions to make the student's become better in every way. The job of an educator is very complex, but like the old saying goes on George of the Jungle, "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it!"

Enjoy!

The Great Progression Part 1

What recession? Day after day I hear people speaking of this recession and how bad the economy is. The threats of pink slips and the loss of jobs while the big business companies hoard funds to make gains. Well in my mind there is no recession just creation of more new ways to live. Like Lisa Nichols so eloquently put it on Sunday, March 15, 2009, "You can have your recession cause I don't want it!" I believe I am in a Progression...a simple refocusing of my finances to provide the greatest good for myself, family and others. If the critics blame it on Obama helping to create this situation then I will take it :).

In order to make changes we must embrace the things we are confronted with. Let us focus on the positive creative nature we have inside and think of ways to make our financial situations better for the world. In times where changes occur, we begin to focus on ways of improvement hence my thoughts on progression considering we don't want to go backwards. If we take time to look at history we have survived and thrived in many cases before where we had to stand in line to receive food rations or park in line and sleep in cars to receive gas. We are no where near that state nor will it take long for us to mentally begin the progression.

Let's take time to think about the message we are sending to ourselves and the world and focus on building a better and stronger economy that services all people including the rich as we all are deserving and worth of wealth.

Enjoy!!!!! Welcome this PROGRESSION period where we help OBAMA, ourselves and the world move into a greater dimension of economics.

Volunteer Students

As I wind down the evening of such a great day I must continue to move forward in the process of reaching the intended target group of the book. I am offering 10 free books to students or parents of students currently in grade 8. I would like to sponsor these students throughout the entire high school experience with great hopes that by following the suggestions in the book they will exceed all expectations and live their dreams. As a reward for following the plan throughout the four years of high school each student will receive a minimum of $100 in a scholarship to be used for college tuition or career preparation. Additional prizes, rewards, and trips may be included for the selected students.

You may nominate one student currently in the 8th grade by writing two paragraphs describing how this student can benefit from the book.

Students will be selected to apply for sponsorship on Friday, May 1, 2009. Scholarships will be awarded to students who have successfully been accepted to and enrolled in a college or career program on or after September 2013. More details will be available on March 31, 2009.

Please begin nominating students now!

Utilizing the Gifts

Today is a phenomenal day as usual. I woke this morning in quite a rush moving through various activities with the notion of getting everything completed NO MATTER WHAT! I focused my thoughts through meditation and continued with expressions of gratitude. As I progressed through my morning routine after Yoga I was drawn to visit a particular website. I was anxious to update this blog with the picture of the cover of my new book. After cropping and saving files I uploaded to the site.

An inside voice kept telling me to visit the Barnes and Noble site. Once there I typed the title of my book into the search box and miraculously my book came up. I started to scream and shout all while jumping around the room. I actually woke my daughter from a drowsy sleep to share in the excitement of the news. This moment at 6:28 a.m. on March 17, 2009 has a new meaning altogether different than a St. Patrick's day celebration because on this day I realized a life-long dream of becoming a published author. Now after reading countless books and stories from great like Judy Blume, Beatrix Potter, and The Brother's Grim in my early years, I too would join the ranks of a published authors whose book is available online.

Though, this is the first of many projects that I intend to share with the world these works of art will provide an opening to my heart as I let the words from inside become my guide. I sit right now comforted in the fact that I am a great contributor to the welfare and well-being of the community I serve.

Today is a great day and I am marveled inside with joy of being complete. Enjoy!

Thoughts for the Day!

I once read a post to an online group asking for the opinion of whether we would ever have a universal health care plan in the United States. This questions caused me to think about more than just asking the question, but coming up with solutions and answers to these thoughts. Most of the responses were "no," and the explanation of the reasons why, however, there were a few who thought it would be possible with constraints. I did pose a question as to how do we resolve this issue and get our voices heard especially since we have this wonderful tool of techonolgy available to us.

After much thought about my post I began to think about a question I have been asking myself and others lately. With the state of public education in America and the apathy that children have towards school, what can we do as educators to make the learning environment a better place? As a teacher, dean of students, and administrator I have been pegged as a person who listens to the kids over the adults, or that I always side with the children. This is true to every extent in that I believe that the words that children speak are just reflections of their hearts. They believe that they need to be nurtured by the very adults that are responsible for them. They want the same love and consideration that many of the adults I work with desire for themselves. Many of my adult colleagues have similar child-like desires and needs that remind me of children.

My solution or answer to this question is multifaceted in that I challenge each and everyone that is responsible for the life of a child in any capacity to find a way to connect with a child and provide them with the love, care and concern they deserve to feel whole. Put aside your ego of being the adult and knowing more than what a child can offer you to really hear their desires and how we can make this world a better place. The same children that you fail to connect with will be responsible for helping to make sure that the world we live in is a better place. It is time we start treating them as capable beings instead of society rejects.

Remember to take time to help someone to become a better person. In doing so you will make a better you!

Enjoy!
